The Legacy Flag
It was a tireless search that constantly fell short when looking for a flag staff worth investing in as the permanent collection for Fort Snelling National Cemetery. The wooden stakes with stapled canvases simply weren’t designed to withstand outdoor use or multiple years of handling and storage. In 2019, an estimated 60,000 flags were lost to damage; an annual expense this tradition simply cannot afford.
Determined to help the event, Rocky Borchardt, co-founder of FFFS, designed this custom retractable flag staff to answer our organization’s long-term needs!
RETRACTABLE
Every American flag deserves to be respected, cared for, and protected. The Legacy Flag manually retracts, rolling the flag into the shell for protection from handling and storage.
SUSTAINABLE MATERIAL
Made of recycled/recyclable plastic, this staff eliminates the costly mold issues of wooden staffs, and adds the strength and flexibility needed to prevent breakage upon entry.
REMOVABLE FLAG
The nylon flag easily slides in and out of the shell for secure placement when in use, and easy removal for cleaning or replacement when needed.
STRONGER STRUCTURE
The staff is designed with a cross-build structure with a thick 4-bladed stake for easier entry in tough or colder grounds.
