What is a Greeter?

Greeters are the first set of people all of the other volunteers see upon arrival for their shift. You are in charge of checking people in for their shift and ensuring that the number of folks registered stays accurate. You are also responsible for making sure everyone gets a map once they are checked-in.

Things to consider before volunteering:

This position is perfect for those who are unable to stand for long periods of time.
You will be interacting with most of the volunteers, so an extroverted personality is a plus!

we’ll be out rain or shine! Dress for the weather!

YOU WILL BE STANDING
for the duration of your shift, please wear appropriate footwear!

SOCIALIZING
You’re going to be interacting with everyone, bring your smile!

Cemetery Rules

1. No running in the cemetery.

2. No leaning on, sitting on, or resting body or limbs on headstones or monuments.

3. Do not pick up any flowers or flags (unless the flag has fallen to the ground).

4. Do not touch any of the coins that were placed on top of the headstones or around the headstone.

5. No advertising of any kind while on the cemetery grounds. This includes company apparel.

6. Do NOT disrupt visitors at graves. You may ask to place the flag for them. However, if they deny the request, kindly give them a flag so that they can place it themselves.

7. No littering, please ensure that you are picking up after yourselves.

Q • How long is my shift?

A • You can expect your shift to last about 3 hours.

Q • When should I arrive at the cemetery?

A • To keep the day on schedule we ask that you arrive at the start of your shift.

Q • Where do I check-in?

A • A week or so before your scheduled shift, you will be sent an email with additional information, including a cemetery map of where to check-in and parking information.

Q • How can I prepare for my shift?

A • The most important thing is to bring your smile! We will provide you with a quick training on some important notes, we’ll also provide a covered area with water, chairs and tables.
