Flag Placement Request Fulfillment Team
Sunday, May 24, 2026
What is the role of the Flag Placement Request Fulfillment Team?
The Flag Placement Request Fulfillment Team is responsible for all the Flag Placement Requests that come in throughout the season. They take photos of the flag at each requested headstone and submit it to the Flags for Fort Snelling website. The photo is then posted automatically to the FFFS Facebook page and emailed to the requestor as well.
What is a Flag Placement Request?
The Flag Placement Requests are a tradition FFFS started during our first year in 2015. It was a way people could guarantee that a flag was placed at their loved one’s headstone for Memorial Day, keep in mind that this was before every headstone received a flag! The tradition evolved over time in that the requestor receives a photo of the flag at their loved one’s headstone. Today, the majority of requests come from folks who are physically unable to visit the cemetery.
